Moog Etherwave Theremin Standard Ash

The Theremin is one of the oldest electronic instruments, and the only one that you play without touching it. Moving your hands in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume. Like the Ethervox, the Etherwave is an authentic adaptation of inventor Leon Theremin's original design. It's easy to carry and set up and fun to play.

The Etherwave is a quality Theremin with a design that retains many characteristics of the original theremins, including a five-octave pitch range and reliable spacing between notes for sophisticated playability. Antennas are nickel-plated 3/8" brass tube and cabinets are furniture-grade hardwood. The Etherwave is fitted with an adapter for mounting on a standard microphone stand and is designed for use with a musical instrument amplifier such as the Moog TB-15.

The Etherwave is shipped with a DVD that contains two video tutorials: Mastering the Theremin with Lydia Kavina, and Clara Rockmore, the World's Greatest Theremin Virtuosa.

Moog Etherwave Plus Theremin

Moog Etherwave Plus Theremin

The Etherwave Plus from Moog extends the legendary Theremin's gestural playing technique to the world of analog synthesis and beyond. Control synthesizers and effects while playing the Etherwave Plus Theremin or use as a standalone CV (Control Voltage) controller.

The Etherwave Plus Theremin has all the great features and tone of Moog's standard Etherwave Theremin, which is based on one of the oldest electronic instruments. You play it without touching it by just moving your hands near its antennas. Used on great classic recordings like "Good Vibrations" and '50s sci-fi soundtracks, it adds amazing coloration to any performance or recording or can be played as a serious solo instrument.

The Moog Plus Theremin portion of this particular model refers to the fact that it can not only be be used as a performance instrument but also as a controller. The CV outputs control signals are proportional to the pitch and volume of the Theremin's audio signal. Connect to the pitch and volume CV inputs of a Moog Little Phatty, Voyager, or other analog synthesizer for a completely new way to play your synth. These CV signals are not limited to pitch and volume control. Route them to any CV destination and create a new world of expression. Control anything from the cutoff frequency of a Moog Ladder Filter or the LFO Amount on a Moogerfooger Ring Modulator to the stereo panning on a Minimoog Voyager.
