Primacoustic Stratus Broadband Ceiling Cloud Black
The Primacoustic Stratus Ceiling Cloud is an acoustical device that suspends above the recording console to control early reflections, flutter echo and help eliminate standing waves that cause resonant peaks in the critical mix position. Once in place, you will immediately enjoy a more controlled and intimate acoustic environment, larger sweet spot, and reduced ear fatigue.
Attractive and very affordable, the Stratus acoustic cloud ships in kit-form and is easily put together in minutes using a simple screw driver. The kit includes a 2" thick, 24" x 48" acoustic panel made from high density 6lb per cubic foot fiberglass and suspension hardware. The fiberglass is encapsulated in a micromesh and the edges are resin treated to retain the minute fibers. For an attractive appearance, the panel is covered in an acoustically transparent fabric.
The suspension hardware consists of two, light-weight, aluminum rails and "L" brackets that form a rigid frame around the panel. To hang the Stratus, simply attach the included picture wire to the frame. Hardware and fasteners for sheet-rock ceilings are included in the kit. Typically, the Primacoustic Stratus would be suspended above the console and clustered in an array of three to span the width of your console.
The Stratus absorbs sound energy by converting it to heat. Sound energy traveling via air vibrations penetrates the panel causing the minute glass fibers to vibrate and generate heat. This thermo-dynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs directional sound energy and prevents it from reflecting into the mix position.
By itself, the 2" thick fiberglass panel is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz. To help control a broader frequency spectrum, the Stratus may be angled to vary the air space between the Stratus and the ceiling. This allows the backing surface to also absorb reflections off the ceiling.
For years, acoustic clouds and canopies have been used to control sound. They can be made of ridged material to reflect sound waves or soft material to absorb it depending on their purpose.
In theaters, reflective clouds are often visible in the form of hard, curved devices that are arrayed and suspended above the stage. Theaters use theses types of clouds to reflect sound back toward the stage so that the musician can get a sense of intimacy. These reflective type acoustic clouds provide the natural ambiance of a smaller room within a cavernous hall, thus allowing the performer to better interact within the acoustic environment.
Absorbing acoustic clouds, like the Primacoustic Stratus, perform the opposite function: instead of reflecting energy back into the space, the absorbing properties are used to remove unwanted reflections. Primacoustic Broadway Control Cubes are an attractive, easy-to-install acoustic treatment when you want to control primary reflections, eliminate flutter echo, and reduce standing waves.
Made from high density 6 pound per cubic foot high density fiberglass. Span Control Cubes across wall surfaces to treat bothersome reflections that exist between the sound source and the listener. Primacoustic Cumulus Broadband Ceiling Corner Trap - Set of 2 Black
The Primacoustic Cumulus is a triangular broadband acoustic corner trap that effectively absorbs sound from 125Hz and up. Designed to fit in corners where the walls and ceiling meet, the Cumulus takes advantage of the natural propagation of sound that occurs in all rooms. Sound waves follow the wall and ceiling planes and accumulate in the corners, a well known hot spot in small recording rooms or theater.
The Cumulus is amazingly compact. Each side is 24" in length and, when in place, creates a 12" deep air space cavity behind the panel that increases the bass absorption characteristics. StopGap Acoustical Sealant is a highly elastic, water-based sealant used for reducing sound transmission. Works at the perimeter of wall systems or around electrical box cutouts to achieve specified STC/MTC values. The surface dries to a tough film but the sealant remains flexible and stays pliable up to 5 times longer than alternative brands. And unlike other products, Auralex Stop-Gap has no residual run-off. StopGap is paintable and non-staining, and meets ASTM C-834 standards for flame retardancy.
StopGap comes in a large, 29 oz caulking tube and therefore requires a larger than normal-sized caulking gun, which can be purchased at any local hardware store. Coverage per 29 oz. cartridge is approximately 40 linear feet when a 3/8 inch bead is applied.
Primacoustic KickStand Mic Boom Isolator
The Primacoustic KickStand heavy microphone boom-arm isolator combines a massive stabilizing base with an isolation pad that eliminate resonance entering the microphone from stages, drum risers or studio floors.
A common problem with bass guitar and kick drum is resonance on a live stage. This is generally caused by low frequencies coupling with the wood flooring which will combine with the instrument at certain frequencies and generate unwanted peaks and valleys.
Another problem is the physical vibration from the kick drum pedal and low-end from the PA system that causes the drums to rattle and transmit through the drum riser. Microphones that are near these sources are prone to picking up these unwanted sounds. The KickStand helps eliminate the problem by decoupling the microphone stand from the stage while introducing a stabilizing mass to hold the microphone firmly in place.
The Primacoustic KickStand isolator's thick, high-density open cell acoustic foam covers the entire bottom plate. An innovative laser cut steel platform is wedg' shaped to eliminate standing waves while offering sufficient height to allow a boom-arm to be articulated into the ideal position. The isolation eliminates the resonance while the added mass stabilizes the microphone capsule for greater clarity and improved transient response.
Although originally developed for bass drum, the KickStand is very effective on electric guitar, bass and other instruments that generate low frequencies or may be subject to floor resonance from entering the mic via the microphone stand.

Primacoustic Cumulus Broadband Ceiling Corner Trap - Set of 2 Beige
The Primacoustic Cumulus is a triangular broadband acoustic corner trap that effectively absorbs sound from 125Hz and up. Designed to fit in corners where the walls and ceiling meet, the Cumulus takes advantage of the natural propagation of sound that occurs in all rooms. Sound waves follow the wall and ceiling planes and accumulate in the corners, a well known hot spot in small recording rooms or theater.
The Cumulus is amazingly compact. Each side is 24" in length and, when in place, creates a 12" deep air space cavity behind the panel that increases the bass absorption characteristics. Mounting Cumulus traps in a studio will generally yield a significant reduction in the problematic low-mid region while leaving the architectural design of the room virtually intact. Invisible mounting is achieved using spring-tensioned clasps and a single eye-screw. Mounting literally takes minutes and because of the reverse beveled edges Cumulus traps flush mount 'seamlessly' into the room esthetics.
This makes the Primacoustic Cumulus the perfect acoustic starting point for rooms such as home theaters or smaller production suits that have limited wall space and suffer from saturation of lower mid-range frequencies (known as 'boomyness'). Attractive and very affordable, the Stratus acoustic cloud ships in kit-form and is easily put together in minutes using a simple screw driver. The kit includes a 2" thick, 24" x 48" acoustic panel made from high density 6lb per cubic foot fiberglass and suspension hardware. The fiberglass is encapsulated in a micromesh and the edges are resin treated to retain the minute fibers. For an attractive appearance, the panel is covered in an acoustically transparent fabric.
The suspension hardware consists of two, light-weight, aluminum rails and "L" brackets that form a rigid frame around the panel. To hang the Stratus, simply attach the included picture wire to the frame. Hardware and fasteners for sheet-rock ceilings are included in the kit. Typically, the Primacoustic Stratus would be suspended above the console and clustered in an array of three to span the width of your console.
The Stratus absorbs sound energy by converting it to heat. Sound energy traveling via air vibrations penetrates the panel causing the minute glass fibers to vibrate and generate heat. This thermo-dynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs directional sound energy and prevents it from reflecting into the mix position.
By itself, the 2" thick fiberglass panel is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz. To help control a broader frequency spectrum, the Stratus may be angled to vary the air space between the Stratus and the ceiling. How It Works
Before getting into how the Recoil works, it is worth understanding some of the scientific principles involved and what problems they are actually solving.
Sound travels through air and other media in waves. These waves compress at various frequencies called wavelengths. Longer wavelengths tend to travel further while shorter ones travel in a more direct line. Longer wavelengths require more energy to generate and, once in motion, are very difficult to contain. With sufficient energy, long wavelengths will cause walls and floors to vibrate. Thunder shaking your house is a very good example of lots of energy applied to a low frequency.
Okay, so what does this mean in human-speak? Simply put, bass travels through just about anything while high frequencies are fairly simple to control. And has all of this got to do with near field monitors or reference loudspeakers? Those speakers produce bass and bass will transmit through the speaker stand to the floor, the walls and whatever is connected. This is called acoustic coupling. When sound vibrates in the speaker stands, they resonate and produce unwanted sound. To sum up, coupling causes a frequency bump at the resonant frequency that, in turn, changes the speaker's performance.

Primacoustic Stratus Broadband Ceiling Cloud Beige
The Primacoustic Stratus Ceiling Cloud is an acoustical device that suspends above the recording console to control early reflections, flutter echo and help eliminate standing waves that cause resonant peaks in the critical mix position. Once in place, you will immediately enjoy a more controlled and intimate acoustic environment, larger sweet spot, and reduced ear fatigue.
Attractive and very affordable, the Stratus acoustic cloud ships in kit-form and is easily put together in minutes using a simple screw driver. The kit includes a 2" thick, 24" x 48" acoustic panel made from high density 6lb per cubic foot fiberglass and suspension hardware. The fiberglass is encapsulated in a micromesh and the edges are resin treated to retain the minute fibers. For an attractive appearance, the panel is covered in an acoustically transparent fabric.
The suspension hardware consists of two, light-weight, aluminum rails and "L" brackets that form a rigid frame around the panel. To hang the Stratus, simply attach the included picture wire to the frame. Hardware and fasteners for sheet-rock ceilings are included in the kit. Typically, the Primacoustic Stratus would be suspended above the console and clustered in an array of three to span the width of your console.
The Stratus absorbs sound energy by converting it to heat. Sound energy traveling via air vibrations penetrates the panel causing the minute glass fibers to vibrate and generate heat. This thermo-dynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs directional sound energy and prevents it from reflecting into the mix position.
By itself, the 2" thick fiberglass panel is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz. To help control a broader frequency spectrum, the Stratus may be angled to vary the air space between the Stratus and the ceiling. sE Electronics SERF Reflexion Filter 3.5
The Reflexion Filter is a portable device for recording live sound sources with reduced room ambience. It is an advanced composite wall which is positioned behind any microphone by means of a variable position stand clamp assembly which ships with the product. The main function is to help obtain a 'dry' vocal or instrument recording. This is especially useful in studios without proper acoustic treatment, but can also be used to help record takes in control rooms, where the performer also has to operate the recording device, or in rehearsal studios to reduce ambient noise.
The Reflexion Filter has 6 main layers. Firstly, a strong layer of punched aluminum which allows sound waves to pass through it, diffused, to a layer of absorptive wool. The sound waves then hit a layer of Aluminum foil which helps dissipate energy and break up the lower frequency waveforms, and from here they hit an air space kept open by rods passing through the various layers. The air gap acts as an acoustic barrier. The sound waves then pass to a further layer of wool and then through an outer, punched, aluminum wall which further serve to absorb then diffuse the remaining acoustic energy.
The main absorber has 4 formed pieces of state-of-the-art specialist acoustic absorptive material attached to its face via the extended separation rods, which further serve to absorb and then diffuse the sound waves as they pass to the main filter.
The stand assembly is composed of a mic stand clamp fitting, which attaches by means of a vertical joint to the horizontal bar assembly onto which both the Reflexion Filter, and any standard fitting shock mount can be fixed. The microphone (in its shock mount) can then be moved both vertically and horizontally along the bar, and the Reflexion Filter itself can be moved vertically to obtain the optimum working position.
The various layers both absorb and diffuse the sound waves hitting them, so progressively less of the original source acoustic energy passes through each layer. This reduces the amount of energy hitting untreated walls and other surfaces so there is less of the original source reflected back as unwanted room ambience to the mic. The Reflexion Filter also helps prevent any reflected sound reaching the back and sides of the mic. Its shape and size have been carefully tested to maximize absorption while keeping 'coloration' down to only around 1dB, and leaving the microphone's polar pattern unaffected.

The locking roll-top cover prevents unauthorized users from accessing mixer controls, while two locking pocket doors cover the two 14-space rack bays.
