23D Tray Max Bait Trays are stackable, interlocking and interchangeable. Made with marine grade powder coating for easy cleaning and the trays are white to reflect the sun's heat when exposed, unlike the stainless systems which absorb the heat. There are 2 depths of trays available; a shallow tray for smaller, skirted bait like ballyhoo and a deeper tray for bulk bait, large rigged bait and boxes of frozen bait. This keeps the bait from becoming mush when exposed to melted ice. The patented design conducts the cold up the stack to the trays above. The ice in the bottom of the cooler comes in contact with the bottom tray and the cold is conducted to the tray above. As the tray comes in contact with the bottom of the tray above it, the cold is conducted through the stack. This system keeps the bait much fresher than systems where the trays just hang in the cooler depending on the ice to cool it without contact. This system is designed with a cutting board that will fit into any of the trays located at the top of the cooler. It allows the angler to cut their bait and place the board back into the top of the cooler to keep it out of the way. It also keep your bait fresher. The dense board acts as an insulator since the top of the cooler is where most of the heat exchange happens.
